French Toast Casserole Recipe
1 loaf of bread
8 eggs
1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream
2 cups of milk
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp vanilla
2 tbsp sugar
Crumble Topping:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter cut into slices
Cut bread into cubes. In a bowl mix together eggs, heavy cream, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla & sugar. Spray a large baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Place cubed bread in baking dish, pour egg mixture over bread making sure the bread is covered in the liquid. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator over night or for several hours until the bread absorbs all of the liquid. Prepare crumble topping, in a bowl mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and cold butter slices together using a pastry cutter or a fork until crumbly. Place topping in a zip lock bag and place in the refrigerator. When ready to cook, remove plastic cover from baking dish, add topping to casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Enjoy!
