Halloween month on Sunday Longplay continues this week, with a sequel to the ROM hack I played last week. Welcome to Castlevania Retold 2!

With Simon Belmont nowhere to be found to fight Count Dracula from taking over Transylvania, a powerful sorcerer opens a portal into the future and pulls another hero from the Belmont Bloodline, Richter Belmont. In order for Richter to return to his time, he has to kill the nasty vampire from taking over the country and possibly the world. Will Richter succeed in beating Dracula?

This hack is more beginner-friendly than most other Castlevania hacks, and it overhauls the sprites and environments, borrowing the nighttime city environment from Castlevania 2 as well as some environments from Castlevania 3, and the result is pretty pleasing to the eyes. Richter also gets full jump control in this hack, allowing you to change direction mid-jump and also allowing you to control how high or short you jump by how long you hold the jump button.
