There are a couple things that get in the way of people believing this, egos and current skills and abilities. You’ve got to get past that and focus on getting better. It does take some effort on your part. The magic sauce is work, do the work!

I like Go Stop for training movement and entry exit. This drill is so scalable, you can make it as hard or easy as you want. If you’re not familiar with it check out Practical Shooting Training by @joel.park_ and @benstoeger. Tons of great info on @practicalshootingtraininggroup website as well, I think @hkimshooting has a good break down or Go/Stop on there.
