Navy captain Roosevelt composes piano sonata

Willard Roosevelt (1918-2008) served in the Pacific during World War II. He was commissioned in the Naval Reserve in 1940 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1943, serving as captain of the USS Greene. With the Greene he supported the invasion of southern France in August 1944.

After his military service he composed numerous instrumental and vocal works which are published by the American Composers Alliance and Merion Music.
