Thermodynamics: Ergodic Theorem, Configurational, Thermal, and Electronic Entropy

This lecture expands upon our understanding of statistical physics. It is demonstrated how the Ergodic theorem allows for our understanding of measurement as a sampling from an ensemble of systems. Analytical forms of configurational, thermal, and electronic entropy are given, including simplifications coming from the Einstein and Debye approximations. The electronic entropy is expressed using the free electron model for the density of states. (F22_L10)
