Yes, a legally blind guy can shoot guns AND he can become an instructor. No, he can't drive himself to the range and that is why he brought Jorge along.
If you are thinking about becoming an NRA instructor this could help you understand more of the process.
Jorge and Sal signed up to do my instructor Pre-Qualification. They had no idea I was going to interview them after the class. (to be fair neither did I or I would have cleaned up the classroom a little better) Here are some of the things we touched on:

After we turned off the video, Jorge shared with me that I was NOT his 1st choice. He just wanted a class to sign up with and just "get it done". He didn't want to do this "Pre-qualification" thing. He was happy that he did it.

What your $65 investment will get you. 90 minutes of evaluation, training and understanding where you are and if you need to improve something. If you don't pass, you will get homework and 2 weeks to do it and return, for free. Regardless of if you take an instructor class with me or someone else, you will be better prepared for your Instructor NRA Basic Pistol class. As George mentioned the instructor course is $350 and 3 days of training. It's a big commitment that is not for everyone. $65 will help you find out if you are ready for it.
