Join me, "Texas Mom", as a take you along with us to pick up the weekly groceries. Our family is on a serious MISSION to grow as much food as possible on our own land! However, until that dream becomes a reality, we still have to go to the store and buy food. Although we absolutely DO NOT trust the "organic" labels and marketing, which is one big reasons why we want to grow our own food, we DO think that buying organic is "better" than the alternatives. So until we are producing more here on our homestead, we try our best to feed our family as HEALTHY as possible, all while remaining as frugal as possible. One way that we do this is by not buying processed, pre-made, or snack foods. We try to stick with buying fruits, veggies, meats, and dairy. Buying "whole foods" allows me to cook from scratch which also saves money. I hope you enjoy this weeks haul and please check out my other grocery haul videos, as each week is very different. Just four Texas brothers trying to homestead! Sit back and enjoy while we learn and enjoy the simple life together! We love making videos.

We raise goats, laying hens, meat birds, meat rabbits and mascovy ducks on our 5 acre homestead. We are planting fruit trees on contour, using swales to develop a sustainable food forest. While using our goats to clear land and our chickens to fertilize and till the ground, putting our animals to work for us implementing permaculture to maximize our efforts.
