In this video, I discuss the Chinese mining pool Poolin's liquidity problems and what this means for Bitcoin and the Bitcoin mining ecosystem.

Mining pools are simply a way for many ASICs to mine together and share in the rewards. It's very easy for an ASIC (Bitcoin mining machine) to point its hash to a new pool on a moment's notice.

By contrast, ETH validator pools are much more sticky and prone to regulatory or political capture.

Poolin's liquidity troubles are only a problem for those who are owed BTC by them. It is not a problem for Bitcoin itself.

Bitcoin miners are already pointing their hash to different mining pools, and Poolin's share of the overall hash rate is plummeting.

Bitcoin is robust, anti-fragile, and built to both withstand nation-state level attacks and to heal itself when necessary.
