HISTORY BEHIND THE MYSTERY

The original Mystery of the Ages was completed in the last full year of Mr. Armstrong's life - 1985. After apostle Armstrong's death in January 1986 Worldwide Church of God began heavily editing Mr. Armstrong's books and booklets before eventually stopping their circulation altogether. Since WCG held the copyrights no one could legally print Armstrong's books.

In 1997 Philadelphia Church of God printed a "pirate" version of Mystery of the Ages since the copyright holder vowed to keep it out of print. Joe Tkach Jr. said it was is "Christian duty" to keep MOA out of print. This 1997 edition is what caused the WCG to file lawsuits against the PCG to stop it's distribution. The only thing changed in the 1997 pirate copy was the copyright page - all other text remained in tact. After 6 years in court PCG finally acquired the copyright to Mystery of the Ages and 18 other works by Mr. Armstrong. (But why did they stop at only 18? Why not go for everything? Mr. Armstrong wrote SO MUCH MORE than the few pieces PCG offers).

After gaining hold of the copyrights in 2003 PCG gets shady and begins pulling full statements out of every copy of Mystery of the Ages since 2003 without even mentioning it to the reader. They thought you wouldn't notice. They thought it wouldn't make you mad. Did it? It made me mad because it was purposely does to deceive. With each reprint of Mystery of the Ages PCG changes things.

The newer the copy, the weaker it is.

Do your best to secure an original copy. Pray to the LORD and follow His leading. He has an original copy just for you somewhere out there. Remember the 1985 Copyright Worldwide Church of God is the ORIGINAL GANSTA!!!!!
