Bob Dole Obituary

Former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole has died. Dole enlisted in the Army Enlisted Reserve Corps in 1942 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant with the 10th Mountain Division in 1944. Dole served as the Senate’s Republican leader from 1985 to 1996. The Republican candidate for president in 1996, Dole was the last World War II veteran to have been the presidential nominee for a major party.
