Stepping Out Of the Garden 5: An Apoplectic Rant. August 30, 2022 SOC.

What little filter I have is disintegrating. In truth, I am heartbroken. We have to face how we got here.

My return to the Gospel has been via audiobook: a new, plain, translation of The New Testament published in 2017 by Yale University Press (I would love the same for the Old). I swear, there are times when I almost hear Jesus' eyes roll in his head as His words are spoken. Since I was small, the story of the merchants in the temple has resonated.

I choose GOD over MAMMON.
I am like Lot's wife, stuck, staring back. :/
A mustard seed stuck, deep, in a sidewalk crack.

* This next quote - THE ONE QUOTE I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN COMPLETELY LITERALLY from the bible - was only meant to be verse 16. Then I read around it and realized just how relevant the context is to our current culture.
Isaiah 49:15-17 (KJV)
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
16 Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me.
17 Your builders make haste;[d]
your destroyers and those who laid you waste go out from you.

"Stepping Out Of The Garden" is a series where I am "taking up my cup": walking through the forest of the human condition; identifying many trees; with Jesus as my guide... at least trying.

Examining the greater context through the lens of my experience...
Treading through a minefield... in the name of unconditional love...
I just tell the tale.
I don't say I like it.
