Vivekachudamani, the crest-jewel of Discrimination commented by Sriman Narayana, is work of Adi Sankaracharya with the teachings of the scriptures. It's Advaita Vedanta and is for advanced Seekers, those who have moved beyond worldly desires, attachments, and seek Liberation only.
The Srutis (scriptures) have always been the guiding light of the Seekers of enlightenment. The scriptures together with the enlightened master. The scriptural truths have been confirmed through the ages by all those who have crossed the ocean of illusion, and they are truthfull. The teachings of enlightened master should be in accordance with the scriptures. And the meaning of the scriptures needs an awakened one to reveal its depth. Those who are mature will benefit from these teachings, those who are not yet ready can use them as inspiration and direction. May all find Liberation in this life.
