Komodo dragons are the same as other predators, they have to hunt prey to survive, but if live prey is not found they will eat anything including dead animal carcasses. Like the following, the komodo dragon found one of the fish stranded in the sea, it looks like the fish is dead, the komodo dragon just eats it. If the prey is like a fish, the komodo dragon swallows it immediately without tearing the fish's body, but if the prey is like deer, buffalo, and also wild boars, they will tear their bodies and then the pieces are swallowed.
