Author and podcaster Tom Secker, host of the ClandesTime podcast and writer / publisher of Spyculture.com, joins us to discuss the 2005 Tom Cruise movie, War Of The Worlds, which is based on the famous H.G. Wells novel.  Both its development and release during the early days of the War on Terror and the war in Iraq give it that “Could this be terrorists…again?!!” facade, while the military units seem more interested in crowd control than fighting the aliens.  Lastly, it’s undeniably a Steven Spielberg movie through and through; be prepared to root for a hero who does almost nothing heroic.
