St Yared, 6th century, was Ethiopia's most influential hymnist on a par with St Ephrem, in its musical and lyrical genius. But did you know he got his songs from heaven, indeed went to heaven, just like someone else we know, Muhammad? Except Muhammad was said to have lived in the 7th century. Coincidence?
