Terence Winter and Jim Sheridan collaborated on the 2005 American crime drama thriller Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Along with Terrence Howard, Joy Bryant, Bill Duke, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Omar Benson Miller, Ashley Walters, and Viola Davis, it stars Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson in his feature film acting debut. The movie, which incorporates personal parts from 50 Cent's life, centers on his character Marcus Greer, a drug dealer who decides to leave his life of crime behind in order to follow his passion for rap music. The same name appears in both the 2003 debut album by 50 Cent and the title of the movie.
