Perfect Weapon (PS1) Gameplay
I actually figured out a few new moves by the end of this footage, like the grabs. This is Perfect Weapon on the original Playstation, and it actually ranks highly on the list of the worst games ever made by most gamers who have ever played it.
That being said, once I figured out how to do a couple of things like using the health packs (I don't have the game's manual to tell me), and how to do some different attacks, I actually find the game to be playable, and I don't hate the game.
Don't get me wrong, there are a myriad of technical, and control issues. This is a game that takes tank controls and fits them into a beat 'em up, which is enough to make you pull your hair out trying to actually hit your opponents, and with the prerenedered backgrounds the camera sometimes gives you the worst possible angle to fight opponents, and never quite figures out when to change the angle to one that will let you see. The regular movement is also a chore as you have to perfectly line up your character to the exact spot in the prerendered scene for him to move, otherwise he will just announce to you that he can't move every three seconds by saying "No Way." This game has a lot of issues, and definitely would have been a game that put pretty visuals (for the time) over playability. Graphics over gameplay.
I'm excited that I actually made it to the second level of the game. That's the first time I ever succeeded in doing that. I have gotten pretty far into this level in the past, giving the game a fair shot, but have never beaten it.
So is this game the worst game ever? I don't think so to tell you the truth. Once you learn it, it becomes relatively playable. Had the developer, Gray Matter, ironed out some of the technical issues before release, this would have upped this game to being just a purely, forgettable, mediocre experience. As it stands, I can completely understand why the vast majority of people would hate this game.
However, if you're like me, and you try and look for the good in games, and are extremely forgiving, your may find some enjoyment in this game once you learn it. I don't think it's terrible. It's definitely below average, but I did have some enjoyment with it. For me it's not the worst game ever. It can definitely be a frustrating game to play, but, again, I enjoyed playing this footage once I figured out a few of the extra attacks in the game. I was playing on easy though. I would definitely play something like Largo Winch, which is another flawed tank-controlling beat 'em up, over Perfect Weapon, but while Perfect Weapon is definitely far from Perfect, I kind of like it in a flawed kind of way.

NOTE: I even like the cheesy action-movie "Perfect Weapon" from 1991 with Jeff Speakman, Roofio, and Dr Tanaka. It has nothing to do with this game whatsoever, but I used to watch that movie a lot growing up.
