Everyone Starts With Assumptions Before They Reason

I am big brain. I start with reason. Well except that everyone starts with assumptions they make before they engage in reason. What allows one to believe in abstracts of reason? Are they physical or are they just human relations in our mind? Or are they objective standards ground in a Mind?
