LIVE COVERAGE: 10 Downing Street as Rishi Sunak set to take over as prime minister

Ruptly is live outside 10 Downing Street in London on Tuesday, October 25, as Rishi Sunak is set to take over as prime minister.

The former chancellor was the only candidate left in the race to replace Liz Truss after both his rivals, former PM Boris Johnson and Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt, dropped out.

Truss is expected to make a statement outside Downing Street at around 09:15 GMT, before travelling to Buckingham Palace for an audience with King Charles III.

Sunak will then have his audience with the monarch and be formerly appointed prime minister, before returning to Downing Street to make his own statement around 11:30 GMT.
