PLANE SPOTTING GIBRALTAR, LGW flight Lands/Departs with JCB Excavator doing work in the Foreground

easyJet flight EZY8901 lands at Gibraltar with a JCB excavator doing work on the beach in the foreground. I love to get machinery and equipment in the same video as the planes! It quickly unloads, changes its callsign and flight number and departs about an hour later. I biked to the other end of the tarmac to film the departure. Flight details below.

I love how these planes land on a tarmac that is surrounded on all sides by water. This is a must watch to see how close to the water these planes land and take off. There are very few airports in the world like this, that could support commercial airline jets to land and take off under such extreme conditions.

Gibraltar is one of the most dangerous airports in the world because the runway is short, it is surrounded by water on both ends of the tarmac, an international highway bisects the tarmac with cars, bikes and people on foot crossing. The weather caused by the Strait of Gibraltar can lead to brutal crosswinds. The pilots who land here have to be very qualified. Flights to Gibraltar are currently only from the United Kingdom because Gibraltar International Airport is technically a military airport not a civilian one.
