Drying small quantities of grain for long term storage.

Long term storage of grain requires the moisture content to be lower that what you usually can get when buying the grain. Farmers and grain storage facilities are concerned about short and medium term storage; a year or two. Farmers and the storage facilities sell by the weight of the grain. So, if a farmer or grain storage facility dries the grain too low, they losses money when selling. I have found the grain to be 2 to 5% above the long term storage recommendation of less than10%. To dry it down there are several ways but this way I found seems to be quick, easy and cheep. Also when you are done the barrel can easily be repurposed for other uses like storage.
