Helicopter to Africa; 2 Continents in less than 10 Minutes; Crossing The Strait of Gibraltar

Helicopter to Africa from Europe. To go from one continent to another via air is quite impressive. To do it in as little as ten minutes is even more of a feat. Take a quick journey with @Ministry of Flight as we cross The Strait of Gibraltar via helicopter.

It's really incredible to take a helicopter from the South of Europe across The Strait of Gibraltar and land on the African Continent.

I love how these planes land on a tarmac that is surrounded on all sides by water. This is a must watch to see how close to the water these planes land and take off. There are very few airports in the world like this, that could support commercial airline jets to land and take off under such extreme conditions.

Gibraltar is one of the most dangerous airports in the world because the runway is short, it is surrounded by water on both ends of the tarmac, an international highway bisects the tarmac with cars, bikes and people on foot crossing. The weather caused by the Strait of Gibraltar can lead to brutal crosswinds. The pilots who land here have to be very qualified. Flights to Gibraltar are currently only from the United Kingdom because Gibraltar International Airport is technically a military airport not a civilian one.
