Britain is funding new tech to 'stop terrorists misusing drones'

Britain is funding new "counter-drone technologies" and pushing tech giants to crack down on "extremist content" as part of a push to keep new and emerging technologies out of militant hands, Foreign Minister James Cleverly said on Saturday (October 29).

Speaking at a UN Security Council Counter-terrorism Committee special meeting on the subject in New Delhi, Cleverly said Britain was working to "do more to stop terrorists from misusing drones."

He added that Britain was working with the G7 and Global Internet Forum to pressure internet giants to "crack down even harder on extremist content online."
