NSW Farming Community Standing Up Against Renewable Energy Zone
Grant Piper- a cattle farmer near Coolah speaking on the wind turbines planned for the area. Coolah is located in the Great Dividing Range NSW and is part of the Orana- Central West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Region.
Upon uncovering the private foreign owned corporate plans for his farming community; and the environmental, economic and long term implications for the community Grant and his wife got active. They formed the Uarbray- Tongy Lane Alliance to preserve their valley and village and to stop the REZ development from progressing.
This is how community pushes back and forces governing bodies to listen to the people. Share this video- we need to support our farmers. We need to understand the implications for Renewable Energy Zones on the land, for our health and for our own right to have a say under corporate systems; which seem more focused on profit than the long term benefit of the environment and the people.
