The Graves were Opened

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gave up His life as He hung on the cross. He died for you and He died for me. Each Gospel account of the death of Jesus Christ provides some different details, and Matthew’s account gives details about the earthquake that occurred. You read in verse 51 that the earth did quake and the rocks rent. This was a violent quake but also a very specific quake. The veil of the temple was rent from top to bottom, meaning it was torn and the same word rent is used to describe what happened to the rocks as well. Can you imagine ripping rocks? It is as if the earth trembled at the death of Jesus Christ.
