Karna MBT also known as Tank- EX at Rajasthan, India. The Tank Ex is an Indian prototype tank, This tank uses the chassis of the T-72M1 (Ajeya) and turret and weapon system of the Arjun MK-1 tank, It was developed in 2002 and was intended to provide a solution for upgrading the Indian Army's ageing T-72M1 fleet under Project Rhino.Unfortunately Karan MBT was out of project Project Rhino because OEM ( Rosoboronexport ) didn't let required changes on existing T-72 chassis but on new imported chassis, due to such Tank-EX upgrade was no longer a upgrade but a new tank, hence it no longer suited to compete in competition. #DRDO
