Some swear by the idea that if you create 10 books and make 1 sale each month out of the 10, then surely if you complete 100 books, you'll earn 10 sales, 1000 books = 100 sales, 10000 = 1000 sales.

Sure, that might be possible, or at least it was once more likely than it is from 2022 onwards. However, creating 10 excellent high-quality long-form books in that time might produce more sales year after year and be far more enjoyable to write.
