Being triggered often means that those who aren't conscious or self-aware project through countertransference, or gaslighting onto those they interact with. The cognitive dissonance is overwhelming all to often, and it can leave those of an empathic nature feeling exhausted.

We are in an age of enormous revelation, and this is happening on macro and micro levels. Shadows are being exposed, people are dredging up their worst behaviour and directing it outward without accountability. Those of us who are aware of it need to hold them fully responsible. It is our duty. Not in a mean or cruel way, but a strong and compassionate tone that if not heard means that we have to create space between those who aren't evolving so we can join those who are.
