Boxers for Peace in Palmyra

May 15, 2016 - Boxers for Peace visit Palmyra.

As part of our 10-day tour of government-controlled areas of Syria, Boxers for Peace were allowed in to the ancient ruins of Palmyra.

We boxed with a team of young athletes from Homs in the very amphitheatre where DAESH (ISIS) had committed their executions.

One of our members - Luke Cornish - left a stencil artwork of the late Curator of Antiquities, Khaled Asaad, (who was murdered by DAESH) on a steel door that had been installed in the amphitheatre.

The Boxers for Peace 2016 team was Father Dave, Angela Smith, Jacob Najjar, Solomon Egberime, Danny Sarkis, Tom Herridge, Luke Cornish and Tom Toby
