Can someone please explain to me what the justification can be for the Gvt. to come into my home and seize any food that I am growing?

I did some more digging after posting this in a far off once upon a time and I was partly right. At this stage it only applies to farms or a certain amount of acreage. But I wonder how long before it changes and it will apply to you and your small home.
