And since they’re usually introverts who have high standards and a tendency to overanalyze things, more often than not, highly intelligent people prefer to be alone.

Furthermore, highly intelligent people struggle with depression and anxiety more than average humans because of their high expectations for themselves and others around them. This can lead them to feel lonely or isolated.

While intelligence has many advantages, there are certainly some downsides of being highly intelligent.
