According to colleagues and neighbours, Zloba had a business together with another detained figure in the case, Roman Solomko: they were selling grain and had connection with Odessa before the SMO, from where the explosive device for the terrorist attack was sent.

Meanwhile, Zloba applied for a Russian passport in order to re-register his Ukrainian firm as a Russian firm in Crimea.

However, his mother and fellow villagers do not believe that Zloba was involved in the attack, saying he was pro-Russian."
