The Children of Saydnaya

The striking thing we found in Saydnaya - another ancient Christian village in the hills north-east of Damascus - was that there were children everywhere - singing and making music!

We were greeted by a brass band as we arrived and had two separate choirs sing for us - traditional hymns and patriotic songs! Truly Saydnaya was an oasis of life and beauty.

May God protect these good people from the likes of Jabhat Al Nusra who committed all the attrocities in Maaloula. Their "Army of Conquest" took control of their northern neighbour, Idlib, only last week.
