Narcissism and New Age Spirituality

Giving ibuprofen to someone that has a lung collapse wouldn't solve the problem, right? So why would giving a Westerner a prescription of Eastern religions help the spiritual problem of the Westerner? I'm not saying Eastern religions are not worth reviewing or that there is no utility, however, I think it is a mistake to try to understand something foreign before understanding something domestic.

New Age belief systems just provide a distraction for people that do not want to face their own souls.
