They Live

Filmed decades ago, John Carpenter's, "They Live" (1988), is a stark look into 21st century America, shining a light on a post 9/11 dystopian America--the surveillance-corporate-propaganda state, where ordinary people, "the unconscious" go about their daily lives with their heads buried in their electronic devices, unaware of how they're being controlled by and elite group of non-humans masquerading as humans who gaslight humanity into submission.
