Community Organizer, Marshal Ganz, who says he worked with President Obama, both community organizers, shares tactics from “Rules for Radicles, by Saul Alinsky that states on the inside cover of the organizers potential handbook, “Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history… the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment [GOD!] and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.” Greg and Pat begin a conversation seeking an understanding of community organizingand exploring the possibility that not only is America being organized, but the world is simultaneously. Greg speaks about how he too, like President Obama, and Marshal Ganz used to be a Community Organizer and was part of the PICO National Networkof community organizers and attending a community organizing meeting with PICOand organizers around the nation. Ganz reveals also where the nation shifting words of “YES WE CAN!” came from, as well as what movement building is like. Most of all Ganz, opens the door for what Greg will be sharing on the next program about the Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicles” who speaks of how a community organizer has to polarize people, creating tension, “conflict.”
