Overlanding The Goat Trail to Buzzard Roost Scenic Overlook - S1 Episode 5

We continue our adventure by making our way to North Carolina. In this episode of the Overlanding series, we're headed to Buzzard Roost Scenic Overlook on our way to the Hurricane Creek Trail.

That turned out to be a great idea. The road to Buzzard Roost that we took became the Goat Trail, which was an awesome offroad track. The path went through a variety of terrain. We traveled up elevation and down elevation. We were mostly in the forest, and we crossed some creeks and saw some great camping spots. We transitioned from the initial gravel road to nice rocky and cobble stone type trails. There were challenging spots that were rutted and off-camber. This Goat Trail proved to be awesome.

When we did make it to Buzzard Roost, we were not disappointed . The overlook was amazing. The view of the mountains and looking down on I-40 and the Pidgeon River was spectacular!!!
