NBC's Ben Collins: 'Go To Trusted News Organizations'

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Is Musk making any effort to tell folks we are trying to do our job, we are trying to keep things in the right, we are trying to make sure the truth is coming. I mean, is he doing anything to kind of rectify the situation right now?”

COLLINS: “I will say Musk isn’t, but there are people in this company who stuck around and it’s kind of unclear how they kept their jobs, who I’ve been talking to, who are trying to keep the wheels on the tracks today. They — they told me you know, they have red lines. If he asked him to cross them, they will — they will leave.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Yeah.”

COLLINS: “And they will say why that happened. But they — their whole job in the next few days is to make sure we get through this without violence. That is literally what these people are saying to me. Musk is not necessarily committed to this —“

VOSSUGHIAN: “Jeez.”

COLLINS: “— based on what we’ve seen, but the people internally that I’m talking to are very committed to that.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Think — think about where we are. What you just said —“

COLLINS: “Yeah.”

VOSSUGHIAN: “— the whole job is to get through this day, right, without — without violence.”

COLLINS: “Well, this week probably. Yeah.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “This week.”

COLLINS: “Yeah. They — they realized this is not a probably a one day thing. You know, January 6 was months after the election, if you remember.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Yeah.”

COLLINS: “It was a building tide over the course of time.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Yeah.”

COLLINS: “And these — in part because of how the Republicans structured elections and how they tabulate votes in places like Pennsylvania where the early vote comes later. You know, we are set up for something where a Democrat might once again take a lead tomorrow. So that is — this is going to be a week-long thing on far-right —“ [crosstalk]

VOSSOUGHIAN: “One — one quick last thing. For folks that are looking at Twitter right now on Election Day. What can they trust?”

COLLINS: “Just don’t.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Just don’t?”

COLLINS: “Just go — go to the AP.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Right.”

COLLINS: “Like you don’t trust us, like fine, whatever. Go to the AP, look at actual election results.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Right.”

COLLINS: “And they will —“

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Go to trusted news organizations.”

COLLINS: “Go to trusted news go to trusted news organizations. Yeah.”

VOSSOUGHIAN: “Yeah. Ben Collins — give them the truth, we appreciate that.”
