Why do we celebrate Loy Krathong?

Every year, on the night of the full moon in November, people in Thailand celebrate Loy Krathong by floating small boats made of leaves and flowers down rivers and canals

In addition to thanking the river goddess, many Thais also use Loy Krathong as an opportunity to apologize for any wrongs they may have committed during the year

Some believe that floating a krathong will bring good luck and happiness in the new year
