Heat in northern training grounds: taking a look at mobilised personnel in exercises at Northern Fleet’s facilities

Soldiers called up from the reserve to Northern Fleet units strengthen their skills at the ‘psychological obstacle line’ in Murmansk region.

◽️ Conditions in this exercise are designed to resemble up-to-date combat in urban terrain. It is made up of demolished buildings and other impediments such as barbed wire, a wall, and a broken bridge.

◽️ The use of pyrotechnics to imitate ammunition bursts, smoke screens, and weapon firing assists trainees in developing the psychological resilience required in modern battle.

🎯 The motorised riflemen also practise shooting small weapons, grenade launchers, and heavy machine guns against the targets simulating enemy’s vehicles and manpower.
