Getting Fired

You know, as a website designer, people assume that I'm a freelancer. I kind of did the opposite of you. I started my business, but I've never considered myself a freelancer. I tried, I think it was Fiver way back a long, long, long time ago. I hated it. Just like you were saying, they want the cheapest thing. And you know what? I'm not the cheapest person out there. I'm not going to degrade myself to get a job super cheap.

So I applaud you.

You know, an interesting caveat. So this is actually, it's come full circle. The same client who got me fired off a Fiver. We started working together off of the platforms. I raised my rates. I've gotten referrals from them. I mean, I ten-timed the rate I was charging them. When they stayed with me, they give me referrals, and I get a lot of business from them. Last night, they sent me a case of the best West Coast vineyard wines I could have ever imagined.
So see full circle. It's great stuff. Yep.
