Overseas Highway Sunset from Channel #5 Bridge #thefloridakeys

A Gorgeous Fall Sunset from the one and only Overseas Highway, Channel #5 Bridge Between Lower Matecumbe Key and Long Key in The Gorgeous Florida Keys!

This is one of a number of concrete arch bridges composing the Florida East Coast Railway Extension. This particular example is missing spans in the middle because the waterway is used by large boats. The current US-1 bridge next to it is a high level bridge for this same reason. A span at also missing at the east end. Despite the missing spans, a portion of the bridge, the west half, has still been preserved as a fishing pier.
