Desire I : Promised Land / Land of Desire

The promises of God's Word to the believer are comparable to the Promised Land for the Israelites, who had just been delivered from Egypt. Egypt is a picture of man's bondage to sin and the world. The wilderness is where God proves us, qualifies us for what He has for us as we separate ourselves from sinful ways and worldly habits. If you pass your tests you won't be in the wilderness forever.
