ADMITTED: The FBI's Secret Spying Program
Last December, Biden’s FBI Director Christopher Wray was grilled by a congressional committee about how the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) potentially planned to use a spyware software called Pegasus to spy on American citizens right before the 2020 elections. With Pegasus, the FBI can enter a phone number and gain full access to the assigned phone. That should be scary to everyone.
At the time of those hearings, Director Wray claimed that no, the FBI had no intention of using this program against Americans. But new documents have revealed that was not the case.
As reported by the New York Times:
"During a closed-door session with lawmakers last December, Christopher A. Wray, the director of the F.B.I., was asked whether the bureau had ever purchased and used Pegasus, the hacking tool that penetrates mobile phones and extracts their contents.
Mr. Wray acknowledged that the F.B.I. had bought a license for Pegasus, but only for research and development. “To be able to figure out how bad guys could use it, for example,” he told Senator Ron Wyden, Democrat of Oregon, according to a transcript of the hearing that was recently declassified."
It turns out, newly revealed FBI documents have now reportedly revealed that Mr. Wray, unsurprisingly, wasn’t being completely truthful about what his agency had in mind for the spyware, or who they planned to use it on:
"[D]ozens of internal F.B.I. documents and court records tell a different story. The documents, produced in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by The New York Times against the bureau, show that F.B.I. officials made a push in late 2020 and the first half of 2021 to deploy the hacking tools — made by the Israeli spyware firm NSO — in its own criminal investigations. The officials developed advanced plans to brief the bureau’s leadership, and drew up guidelines for federal prosecutors about how the F.B.I.’s use of hacking tools would need to be disclosed during criminal proceedings."
Folks, the FBI having access to anyone’s private data is a non-partisan issue. Even Senator Ron Wyden (OR) who questioned Wray about the Pegasus software, has now told the New York Times that he believes the FBI Director was intentionally misleading the American people
Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes further in-depth discussion of this latest shocking revelation about the FBI. We also discussed the $1 BILLION DOLLARS that the Biden Administration has reportedly spent in Afghanistan . . . AFTER the Taliban had returned to power. Wouldn’t you love to know where this billion came from, and who it went to? Are we now paying the Taliban to fight ISIS? Whatever the reason, the American people deserve to know. We’re paying for it.
