BALINESE KECAK DANCE

Kecak dance is one of the traditional Balinese dances that is well known to foreign countries.

Kecak dance comes from a type of sacred dance, namely the Sang Hyang dance which is used to communicate with the gods or ancestors.

It was only in the 1930s that the story of the Ramayana epic began to be inserted into the Kecak Dance performances.

Kecak dance is the most unique type of Balinese dance because it is not accompanied by musical instruments such as gamelan but accompanied by the voices of the dancers.
