US, Poland, & NATO stating the missile that landed in Poland was most likely Ukrainian air defense

US President Joe Biden, Polish President Andrzej Duda, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg have all issued statements that the missile that fell within Polish territory was "likely caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile." Ukraine admits shortly afterwards that it was one of their missiles attempting to intercept a Russian missile.

Possibly an attempt by the West not to escalate the situation in Ukraine into WWIII.
