LEGO® attacking makers - Models Taken Down on Thingiverse

A few of my designs on Thingiverse, as well as others, have been taken down because they dared to be LEGO® compatible. Is this a case of gross abuse of the DCMA tool? Is LEGO®, in their attempt to protect their brand, actually hurting their brand?
