Americans Living In Oblivion!

Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of [a]us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. (2nd Peter 3: 1-6)

This chapter begins by addressing a tragic feature of the human condition: even though it is well within our capacity as humans to be attentively present to both the human and non-human world, and even though such attentiveness generally yields a desirable measure of meaning, fulfillment, and care, we have a marked tendency to diminish this very attentiveness and thereby succumb to what might termed the “ordinary oblivion” of everyday life. Also tragic is the fact that, oftentimes, it takes calamity to awaken ourselves from this inattentive state.

My Thoughts:

Most Americans are living in a state of oblivion. They are unaware consciously or unconsciously as to what is happening around them. Their reality is whatever is told to them. They believe life is what is happening in their world, and that there is no deception only reality.

Awaken sleepy people, wake up NOW! You are living in a make-believed world. It is controlled by evil people intentionally programming us. Spiritual warfare is going on all around us. This world is controlled by Satan and his demons.

I pray that God opens your eyes and ears. Please accept Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior, while you still can, as tomorrow is not promised to no man!
