Let's develop 3 helpful things using the 3 sticking levels of the drummers stroke .

Like all drummers I have a less dominant hand (my left hand) is the weaker one of the 2.
As much as I worked on it the improvements were slow at best, it wasn't until I changed my seat height and started my hand warm ups that I realized something very interesting and changed the way I play the drum set.
By raising the seat height the practice pad was a few inches lower and caused my hands to achieve a true full stroke .
Up until that point I was under the impression that I was playing a full stroke but by lowing the height it caused my hands to swing not only fully upwards but now I had a full down stroke beyond my the normal cut off point where the stick would normally strikes the pad .
Immediately I began to feel the tension in my fore arm and my fingers felt limp trying to complete the entire stroke. I decided to keep on with this little experiment and I have to say after 3 weeks my left hand is looking and feeling better and stronger, I think the new height distance has also stretched the mussel and is acting more like a rubber band (is the only way I can describe it). It has almost taken on a Frankenstein Moller attribute.
