Hey, I just wanted to call and kind of respond to one of the callers from Tuesday night when you guys were doing the election stream. And he was calling about basically asking hey should I still listen to the show. Do you remember him? No. But I was pretty drunk. He basically was like okay he basically was saying you know he was feeling a little cynical. As you know I love the show it gets me through but like it's not like political activism. oh yeah. yeah okay. yeah yeah, and he was saying am I wasting my time. and I was like I'm not in a position to assess that. yeah exactly. and I think a lot of what I have to say may echo some of what was said that night. but I like some personal context. I joined DSA in 2019 and got very involved in different types of organizing. Basically, I like to watch the show every day for 3 years. and I think one thing that the show does well is to kind of highlight common lines of thinking or propaganda from people who are opposed to a leftist agenda. and listening to the show is great entertainment. and it's thought-provoking. but I think like the thought-provoking stuff and hearing arguments and facts of figures and so on it's all kind of meaningless if you're not willing to go out and use what you hear to go have conversations with people. so it's like organizing your workplace knocking on doors talking to your neighbors starting like a tenants organization and attendant Union stuff like that. That's like all the value of organizing. getting people activated. you know after going out and yourself being activated. and you know counteracting a lot of like the narratives and the propaganda that you know keep people you know demobilized or even worse like get them into awful stuff like anti-Semitism racism Q Anon stuff like that. so I basically just want to say something like you know or encourage people, not just that caller. but you know encourage people to think of like watching or listening to the show as like an organizing meeting.
